Privacy policy

1. Who we are

AI Character (the "Service") is operated by AI Character ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use www.aicharacter.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and how long we keep it. Questions go to [email protected].

2. What we collect

Account data: when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile image and a unique identifier. We do not receive your Google password.

Content you provide: character names, descriptions, scene and motion prompts, edit instructions and any images you upload as references.

Content we generate for you: character sheets, images, clips and upscaled versions, together with metadata such as the style, tier, shape and credits charged.

Billing data: purchases are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer identifier, subscription status and credit balance. We never see or store full card numbers.

Technical data: server logs including IP address, browser type, request timestamps and error details, used to keep the Service running and secure.

3. AI Data Processing

AI Character sends your text, images, video, and other input to third-party AI platforms for processing. These platforms currently include OpenAI, fal, Replicate, and OpenRouter. They receive only what is needed to fulfil your request (for example a description, a prompt and the character's reference images) and return the generated result to us. Each platform processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not send them your name, email address or billing details.

Prompts and uploads may be checked automatically for content that violates our acceptable-use rules before they are sent to a model. Flagged references are not stored.

4. How we use your data

• To run the Service: create characters, render images and clips, show you your library, and apply credits.
• To bill you and prevent fraud.
• To respond to support requests.
• To keep the Service safe, including enforcing the acceptable-use rules in the Terms of Service.
• To improve the Service, using aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics.

5. Who we share data with

• AI platforms listed above, to generate your content.
• Google (Firebase) for authentication, databases and hosting of your content.
• Stripe for payments.
• Vercel for serving the website.
• Authorities, when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

6. Retention

Your characters, references and generated content stay on your account until you delete them. Deleting a character deletes every image, clip and reference that belongs to it. Deleted files are removed from our storage promptly; copies in backups and caches expire within 30 days.

Account and billing records are kept for as long as you have an account and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.

To delete your whole account, email us from the address you signed in with and we will remove your account and its content.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. You can exercise these rights by emailing us. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use the browser storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers on the website.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

10. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required we rely on standard contractual safeguards for those transfers.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be announced on the website before they take effect.
